FINAL FAREWELLS

Uganda Log: Thursday 29 October 2009

Erin passes out crayons to the children of the Byumba settlement.

CLICK HERE to go to YouTube to see Erin distributing crayons to the children and watch Blackie being outdone in a knife-throwing demonstration by a Mutwa boy.

Final farewells.

We were unable to laser the forest today because it started raining again. Of course as soon as we left, the rain stopped. So instead of leaving for Bundibugya in the morning to meet King Jeffery (the proclaimed king of the Ugandan pygmies) the plan now was for Nate and P.J. to go back into the forest tomorrow morning to laser the forest and take down the transect. Blackie made arrangements for Erin and me to visit the Batwa Cultural Center in the morning with Frank from the Craft Banda. Since we were home earlier than expected, Nate, Erin, P.J., and I went to the Volcanoes Lodge for a couple of 'cold' drinks before dinner.
